Therapy involves many layers of exploration. It is a growing, dynamic and fluid exchange between you and me in helping you towards creating positive changes in your life.
As a therapist, I can help guide you with those important relationships in your life: With yourself, family, work, friends, intimate partners, and others. We will explore differences, communication, values (trust, honesty, respect, integrity), unspoken rules and expectations, and roles. We will look at what is sustaining a non-working or even toxic relationship.

If you are experiencing betrayal, doubt, confusion, sadness, anxiety, anger, loss, fear and hurt, we will work together to process and explore solutions, choices, values, underlying emotions, expectations, attitudes, unmet needs, and perspective. We will review history, such as family history, and other factors which shaped and created who you are today. We will explore influences in your life, such as addictions, trauma, toxic patterns, instilled negative beliefs and messages, and invalidation, disruption, or loss, testing your ability to cope and function.
My approach is empowering, strength-based, solution-focused and systems-based. I incorporate several approaches such as cognitive behavioral, trauma focused, emotionally focused, humanistic, attachment, developmental, relational, systems approaches, mindfulness, EMDR, and education. I combine my training, experience, and education. I am an excellent listener, and I also work intuitively. Your story is important, and I am sensitive to your cultural background, issues and history.

I completed my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern California, and completed my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. My internships were in domestic violence and trauma/rape crisis counseling. I have worked in non-profit agencies for 15 years as a clinician, clinical supervisor, clinical program manager and clinical director. I have also been in private practice for over 10 years while working with non-profits.
I work with children, teens, and adults and provide individual, family or couple’s therapy. My specialty areas include post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.
