Sometimes it may feel like the world is against you, or you’re alone and no one will understand.  Life can be pretty tough, whether you’re experiencing anxiety or sadness, had a recent loss, dealing with adoption and attachment as a parent or child, issues with coming out and/or identifying as LGBTQ, or experienced a traumatic event, etc. Making the decision to begin your therapeutic journey can be scary and uncomfortable, but can also be empowering. Mental and emotional health is as important as physical health, and it’s my goal to support and be a factor for change while you grow into a healthier and truer self.

I specialize in trauma, attachment, and adoption/foster care related issues with children, families and individuals. Other specialty areas include anxiety, depression, self-harm issues, grief and loss, eating disorders, OCD, self-esteem, substance abuse, and LGBTQ. I utilize various therapeutic approaches and practices to meet the needs of my clients such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), play therapy, music, art for healing, CBT and DBT techniques, trauma focused therapy, and attachment parenting skills.  I enjoy humor and creativity while working with people, and continually strive to increase their self-awareness, insight, and personal strength throughout the therapeutic journey.  By creating a healthy and safe environment, free of judgment, I feel an individual or family can begin to repair and heal, while identifying and overcoming the barriers and negative coping patterns that may have failed in the past.

I received my Bachelors in Family Studies and Early Childhood Education from the University of Utah, and my Masters in Social Work with a mental health concentration from the University of Southern California. I also have experience in wilderness and high adventure therapy, residential programs, and therapeutic boarding schools.
